Awesome, but the rules state the submission "may not be inappropriate, offensive, libelous or defamatory, pornographic, sexually explicit, unlawful or plagiarized, as determined by the Sponsor and/or Blizzard Entertainment in their sole discretion; must not be harassing, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, profane, obscene, excessively violent, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable or offensive in any way, as determined by Sponsor and/or Blizzard Entertainment in their sole discretion"
The partial nudity could be easily construed as pornographic, sexually explicit, vulgar, profane and obscene since I'm pretty sure they'd never be able to put it on the public site if it did win.
General rule o thumb with stuff like this, if you're worried about it possibly being a problem, it probably will be. I'd make a "safer" version for actual submission if I were you
Diablo 3 is rated 16+, you can see really more offensive images from that pegi, btw i really don't think this could be pornographic, sexually explicit, vulgar, profane or obscene, there's just partial nudity in a game where you can slash your enemies head away : P I ve done a safer version, but it comes out in a way i dont like, so..
Sweet work! Liking the red on the bottom, it adds some weight to the piece. No idea is partial nudity will be a problem, my entry might fall into that category as well but who cares, contests are fun just to enter!
If I may be honest with my opinion, and I do hope you don't hate me for this... But while this is a nicely-done fanart, I don't think it would count as appropriate. They need to know how much knowledge the fans of the franchise have about the new story they cooked up featuring these two. One trailer was enough to excite the fans because of the characters and how they fit into the story, as well as their personalities and skills.
To sexualize (is that even a word?) the concept of both the new characters may not be what they're looking for. But hey, this is just my opinion. But if I were you I'd try to stick with how to bring out their characters more than to bring them out in a sort of..."lewd" setting you've drawn them in here. This is fanart, yes, but you have to wonder how many people would be able to appreciate this as a fanwork for DIABLO than a fanwork for the ARTIST.
I'm probably gonna get hated for this, but I just wanted to share. I mean, reviews are welcomed yes?
Absolutely welcomeQ What you said was a great doubt even for me. I have a different style from usual Diablo artists (i can say this looking at the other entries and at the game general taste) and a scene with fights or some classes from the game would be more appreciated. On the other side i did this piece on a mid lane from my original idea (a big scene with tons of chara and a lot of time to be done), my style and my personal taste. I was in doubt until the upload, but i ve send it, looking for reviews like yours about a genre of contest I usually skip for time or different attidutes, so thnx for your comment : )
She's covered; I wouldn't worry about the partial nudity. Looks like something Luis Royo would think up; in other words, awesome concept, and it looks great. Faving even though I'm not a Diablo player.
