Pardon me as I geek out for a moment here. I have a "Force Adept" character that has one of these as a "personal attendant". She wasn't force sensitive, try as he might to help her awaken it. The Order kicked him out because he wouldn't free her, and he wouldn't free her because she quite literally couldn't handle it. After all she was a slave from the day she was born, and the Sith who owned her before hand had so damaged her mind that she was incapable of self determination.
But that wasn't the only reason they asked him politely to leave. They also differed greatly on their philosophical perception of the force. His point of view was that the force was just an energy field. That it was a gross misinterpretation of the force to assume the force had a will of its own, rather any such will was more the consensus of living will of all living things. Like wise he believed that the force was neither benevolent nor malevolent, that such concepts can not be applied to the force, for it is just raw energy. The taint of evil is the product of the soul. Whether dark or light, its the soul of the user which focuses the force, and determines whether the effect is for good or ill. Thus he was able to use powered, both "light" and "dark" with no evidence of any "dark side" taint, provided the use was not malicious in nature.
And on a gaming note. I have found the Shadowrun 4th edition rules set quite well suited, very little rewrite needed, for use in Star Wars games. When it come right down to it, the force and magic are basically the same thing, with a slightly different "fluff" describing them. The Jedi can easily be built using the rules for both adepts and spell users, as many of the effects of Force powers can be easily characterised as either.
OK, I'm done geeking out for the moment.
